COMMON WASHING MACHINE FAULTS

HELP FOR ANYONE WITH A FAULTY WASHING MACHINE IN BRISTOL

We can help with all common washing machine faults

Washing Machine Repairs in Bristol has more than 30 years of experience diagnosing faults and repairing washing machines. Washing machines by their very nature get a lot of use, over time it is inevitable they will develop a problem. That's where we come in, with our experience we'll be able to determine the problem and fix it for you.

Some commonly asked washing machine questions:

  • Is your washing machine loud?

Washing machines are not the quietest of home appliances, but if you notice your machine has suddenly become louder, it could be that the machine has moved slightly in the fast spin cycle, & is on uneven flooring, always be sure to check this isn’t the case before calling out an engineer. If this does not resolve the problem, then give us a call, we can help!

  • Clothes coming out of the washing machine torn and damaged?

This could be that someone has left a coin or a small object in their pocket before putting their clothing in the washing machine, always check pockets are empty before putting a wash on.

  • Washing machine not draining?

    Your filter could be blocked!

Most washing machines have a filter that is accessible from the front of the machine, be sure to read your instructions manual where it will tell you how to remove and clean this filter.

If this does not solve the problem, then you may need an engineer visit.

  • Washing machine not filling?

This could be caused by something as simple as a kinked inlet hose located at the back of the washing machine, always check this first before calling out an appliance engineer.

  • Washing machine door locked? Clothes stuck inside the machine?

There is usually an underlying reason why the washing machine door has not unlocked, which will usually require an engineer visit. Nine times out of ten, the door of the washing machine remains locked as there is still water inside the machine, this is to prevent flooding your kitchen. Should you not be able to wait for an engineer, and need your clothes out of the machine, usually it is possible to manually drain the machine by accessing a small drainage pipe located next to the washing machine filter, have a good read of your instructions manual and it will show you how to safely do this.

  • Washing machine has no power?

Don’t worry, this is usually a simple fix, as most of the time it's down to a blown fuse in the socket, be sure to check the fuse before calling out a washing machine engineer.

  • Clothes coming out of your washing machine smelly?

This can be caused by a build-up of laundry detergent, blockages, lime scale etc, to prevent this from happening, make sure you carry out at least one service wash a month, simply put the machine on the hottest wash, with no clothing items in the drum so the machine can clear itself of any build ups or blockages it may have. Washing machine cleaners and lime scale removers are also available at most supermarkets and hardware stores, we also recommend using these once a month.

Should any of these quick fix tips not work, then you need an engineer visit.
